Everybody loves to touch the soft and supple skin of a newborn. They make us feel envious anytime because of their skin texture. Needless to say, that the softness of the infant skin is due to the presence of a substance called vernix. The composition of vernix includes sebum (the oil which is generated by the skin; usually noticeable in individuals having oily skin) as well as fatty acids. It is because of fatty acids that unborn baby’s skin remains prevented from getting dry and wrinkled. Thus, their delicate skin needs an extra protection and care to prevent eczema or hives and skin allergy.

Give them a comfortable bath every day:

Look out for diaper rashes:

Diaper rashes are common problems experienced by almost all the newborns. But, indeed diapers are saviors whenever you are going out with your baby for long hours. Therefore, it is mandatory to keep monitoring the condition of the diapers after every two hours and change them immediately if found wet.

Is the product skin-friendly?

Mothers should be alert while choosing skin care products for the infants. According to the allergy centers, although all the baby products claim to be skin-friendly and mild, many of them may lead to rashes or skin irritation because of the chemicals used. Avoid use of harsh chemicals, fragrances, talc, soaps which may cause irritation to the skin even though it is meant for children.

Take a stroll with your baby:

It is essential to take your child out for some fresh air, but be cautious about the weather conditions. Don’t make them feel too hot or cold as that might lead to discomforts, which will ultimately lead to itchy skin. You can go for mild sunscreens after 7-8 months from birth to protect from harmful UV rays.

Give them some freedom from clothes

Allergy doctors and scientists have meticulously studied the effect of being naked for some moment related to health. Even though it might sound odd, but it is mandatory, is to get some fresh air to your baby’s skin. However, you can keep their skin safe by putting somebody lotion and let them be free.
